Type 1 Subbase Testing
Testing to assess the compliance of Type 1 subbase against Highways England specification
Type 1 subbase is one of the most common materials used in pavement and road construction. It has a specific constitution and to ensure you obtain the benefit of these it is important that the material complies with several mechanical, physical and chemical properties.
At Hixtra we can test for the full suite of properties including particle size, abrasion, soundness, sulphate levels, plasticity and frost heave.

This has additional test requirements which we can provide including assessing its constituent particles
