Slump Testing of Fresh Concrete
This test is used to measure the workability of fresh concrete to ensure that it is of the right consistency for pouring, pumping and such like.
A spot sample of fresh concrete is taken from the delivery truck and then compacted into a cone shaped mould. Upon a controlled release of the mould the slump of the concrete is measured and compared to what the concrete specification calls for.
