Pulverisation Testing
A rapid test to determine the break up of lumps in freshly stabilised soil mixture
In soil stabilisation work, the separation of particles from each other rather than the breaking up of individual particles is what is normally referred to as pulverisation. This test is frequently used on-site during the stabilisation process of soil with lime or cement to ensure that the soil and binder have been adequately mixed.
These tests are normally undertaken with other tests on stabilisation projects to ensure the physical properties of the laid material have been met.
