Flow Testing of Fresh Concrete
For high workability fresh concrete the slump test is not suitable so the flow test can be better used to more accurately assess the workability compliance of fresh concrete.
This test involves taking a spot sample of fresh concrete from the delivery truck and then compacting it in a cone shaped mould which sits on a special hinged table.
The mould is then removed and the concrete spreads across the flow table by applying a set number of hinged drops. The final diameter created by the spread of the concrete on the flow table is then measured.
