A great deal of information can be gleaned from knowing the percentage of clay and silt within soil for engineering purposes. The amount passing 63 microns won't tell you this - you need a hydrometer analysis of this fraction for which we hold UKAS accreditation and can measure soil particle diameters down to 2 microns. We'd be pleased to carry this out on your samples!
