Constituent Particles Testing
Testing to establish the constituents of recycled aggregates
To make sure that recycled fill material such as crushed concrete for Type 1, 6F2 or 6F5 classes contains only material that is suitable as fill, many specifications call for the constituent particles in the material be classified. This is undertaken by visual examination, separation and weighing of the differing types of material such as brick, concrete, masonry, asphalt and such like. These results can then be compared to specification limits on the maximum percentage allowed of certain types of material.
Expertise at hand
Our staff are thoroughly trained to be able to identify and classify a wide variety of materials
An important test
Having too much soft material such as wood in a fill could seriously affect its performance
Combine with other tests
It's useful to combine this test with others such as particle size and abrasion to fully assess any material
